Discover the Joy of Learning with Picture-Words Unscramble

Looking for a creative way to sharpen your child’s spelling and visual recognition skills? Picture-Words Unscramble is a delightful activity book designed especially for children in primary to early middle grades. Blending the fun of word games with the excitement of coloring and drawing, this book is a must-have for parents and educators alike.

So, what is Picture-Words Unscramble?
It’s a thoughtfully crafted activity book that features 60 vibrant illustrations across five fun themes: Animals, Food, Nature, Transportation, and Sports. On each page in Section A, kids are shown a picture with a scrambled version of the word below it. Their challenge is to unscramble and correctly spell the word on the blank line above the image. For example, beneath a drawing of a baseball, they might see the jumbled letters “l a b a s e b,” which they will unscramble to spell “baseball.”

But the fun doesn’t stop there. In Section B, children can trace these images for added memory and motor-skill reinforcement. And for the budding artists, Section C offers blank boxes where they can redraw the picture-word on their own—combining language development with artistic expression.

Picture-Words Unscramble promotes spelling confidence and word recognition, while also enhancing fine motor skills through tracing and drawing. It includes a Master Word Key in the appendix for self-checking and is perfect for classroom rewards, contests, or just a fun, educational rainy day activity. Whether at home or in school, Picture-Words Unscramble turns learning into play.

He transferred to Chicago State University (CSU), graduating with a BA degree and an Illinois Elementary Teachers Certificate. Steve sub-taught a few years in CPS schools, took additional courses at CSU and became a Library-media and Art teacher at 2 CPS primary schools. While teaching, Steve was continually designing creative lesson plans and art projects, where his interests in art, writing and educational design coalesced. "If I had to do it over, I'd prefer to have pursued a Curriculum Design path, but for some creative people, like myself, it took years to find and develop my interdisciplinary niche. After leaving full-time teaching, Steve tutored part-time in low-income after school programs. He's continued to pursue his 'other passion' to design creative children's educational materials, using computer graphics, writing skills and educational experiences. Currently, Steve Pederson has designed 3 children's workbooks (Reading levels K-3rd gr.)
